Some news stories to pay attention to as the week begins: NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday provided a profile of the women’s barbershop society, Sweet Adelines, now celebrating its 70th year.  Read (and listen) more here. Not classical music, but interesting nonetheless: a record store in Oregon, M’Lady’s Records, which describes itself as “radical[ly] feminist and willfully obstinate,” has instituted a new policy reflecting the pay gap.  All women who place mail orders only need to pay 77% of the list price.  NPR has the story here.
