Women’s Philharmonic Advocacy has launched our year-end fund-drive! Over the years we have worked to support orchestras in their efforts to program more works by women, and to bring these composers — of all historic eras, and from a range of backgrounds — into the arena of public understanding. Now we are asking all our many friends, fans and followers to contribute to our efforts. Our fund-drive lasts through the end of the year, and our Board is determined to double the amount raised, by contributing matching funds! Thus your contribution will go twice as far in supporting our work.
We are using the GoFundMe Charity platform, here. (Or if you prefer you are always welcome to donate via Paypal). If you wish to write a check, please email us — [email protected] — as we are a virtual office, and try to discourage paper mail (but we will oblige you by giving our mailing address to those who inquire). At our GoFundMe page, you can learn about our thank-you gifts that we are offering, and see videos explaining our organization and our work! With your support we will be re-launching our grants program again in 2021, to offer funding to ensembles that are determined to bringing overlooked and neglected works to light.
We realize that this is a difficult time for many, but we want to continue and even expand our vital mission, of bringing works composed by women to wider audiences. Even if you cannot donate, please support our work by sharing our fund-drive with your friends and colleagues — here is a “Tiny” URL that can be easily shared. https://tinyurl.com/WPA-gofundme-2020
