Repertoire Suggestions

A large portion of the music library of The Women’s Philharmonic is available through the Free Public Library of Philadelphia. Search for “Women’s Philharmonic” and score format.  You can also explore the list of repertoire performed by TWP (although in many cases it is not known how to obtain the scores).
Music publishers that include a robust listing of women’s work include:
A-R Editions   — their list of music by women
Arsis Press   (a U.S. publisher specializing in women composers)
Furore Press  (a German publisher specializing in women composers)
Hildegard Publishing   (a U.S. publisher specializing in women composers)
ClarNan Editions   (a U.S. publisher specializing in women composers)
The following list is offered to assist in exploring music for orchestra composed by women.  Performance of one of these pieces is not required to be eligible for a grant.   We are particularly promoting historic works, since composers who are no longer living are at a disadvantage in promoting their own music!   This page is under construction – please check back to see additions and updates!
