It’Hartford concerts all happenin’ in Hartford, CT!  Friday, Oct. 23, the Women Composers Festival of Hartford presents this concert, Love, Motherhood, and the Female Gaze, as part of their fundraising campaign for their annual Festival.  They are fundraising for the Festival  and will also accept bags of gently used clothing, accessories, books, and small household items on behalf of Savers Thrift Store.

Then, on Sunday, Oct. 25, the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra (in West Hartford) presents a “Women in Music” concert, including Amy Beach’s monumental “Gaelic” Symphony, Clémence (Marie) de Grandval’s Oboe Concerto (in what MAY be a U.S. premiere!), and the Farmington High Women’s Chorus will join the orchestra in Gwyneth Walker’s setting of Tennyson’s “Crossing the Bar.”  This looks like an important and moving concert!
