We love Ruth Schonthal’s music – what we’ve been able to hear of it! (Spotify playlist in this post we did a few days ago). That has been a range of her piano and chamber works, and songs. Of her music for larger ensembles – her operas and orchestral work – we have not been able to find a single recording to listen to. In libraries we find an LP from 1986 of her Concerto for horn and chamber orchestra, so it may be possible to pursue listening to that. WE HOPE that some of the celebrations going on in Germany will result in recordings that will be shared!
Worklist adapted from Oxford Online and her publisher Furore Verlag.
