Congratulations go to composer Errollyn Wallen, pictured above, who was named the recipient of the 2020 ISM Distinguished Musician Award.  From the website: “Established in 1976, the ISM Distinguished Musician Award recognises outstanding contributions to musical life in the UK. Errollyn joins such esteemed recipients as Dame Sarah Connolly, Sir David Willcocks, Sir Charles Mackerras, Sir Michael Tippett, Jacqueline du Pré OBE and Sir Charles Groves.”  Read more at ISM.org.

Week 4 of the CSU Fullerton New Music Festival is described here, and features a May 7 concert with Brightwork new music and Stacey Fraser, soprano, with music by Annie Gosfield, Vera Ivanova, and Pamela Madsen.
The National Symphony Orchestra has posted their Young People’s Concert 2021 (a part of their education program) to their website.  Titled “This is Your Space” it explores The Kennedy Center and includes Kwame Alexander reciting his poetry, as well as chamber works by Jessie Montgomery, Caroline Shaw, Valerie Coleman, Chen Yi, Molly Joyce, and Joseph Bologne – Chevalier de Saint-Georges.  And be sure to explore the rich insights of the website!
