February is bringing us a wonderful assortment of concerts!  Last weekend saw the performances of works by Joan Tower and Amy Beach by the Springfield Symphony (read an excellent review at MassLive), as well as Libby Larsen’s Symphony No. 4 by the California Chamber Orchestra.

This weekend Orchestra Seattle | Seattle Chamber Singers will perform Lili Boulanger’s Psalm 129, as well as Karitas habundat by Hildegard von Bingen, as well as and the swallow by Caroline Shaw.  Read program notes here!

Also this weekend Symphony of the Potomac will perform Florence Price’s Symphony No. 3 in a concert that will also include George Walker’s Lyric for Strings.

The wonderful music continues through next week with the Seattle Collaborative Orchestra performing on Tuesday, February 12, featuring Julia Perry’s Short Piece for Orchestra and the World Premiere of Leanna Primiani’s 1001.

For those of us who are unable to attend these wonderful events, listen in to a sampling of the different works that will be performed on our February Spotify Playlist:
