Shana Tova to everyone celebrating the new year! In honor of Rosh Hashanah Time Magazine remembers Betty Robbins, the first (known) woman cantor. The magazine profiled her in 1955 and the piece this week follows up with conversations her children. Read it here.
Fiona Maddocks of The Guardian reviewed a new CD from The Lincoln Trio, including works by Arno Babajanian, Frank Martin, and Rebecca Clarke. The new album will be released on October 14 – find out more about it, and the other recordings of music by women done by The Lincoln Trio, at Cedille Records.
