Sarah Baer  Sarah Baer, Blogger-in-Chief

As a student at Moravian College studying oboe performance, Sarah stopped to question why no works in the repertoire she was asked to study were composed by women. After an honors thesis and senior recital featuring works composed by women for oboe, Sarah continued her research at Brandeis University, earning a joint M.A. in Music and Women’s and Gender Studies.  At Brandeis she met Liane Curtis and has been actively working to advocate for the performances of works by women as a part of Women’s Philharmonic Advocacy since it was founded in 2008.

Sarah currently lives in Pennsylvania where she continues to do research, teach, and perform.
